Parental involvement

St Paul the Apostle Primary values the partnership between parents and school.

Parents are always welcomed and involved in a variety of school activities. Many parents assist in the teaching and learning process by participating in classroom activities, such as literacy groups and reading programs.

Parents are also encouraged to participate in formal and informal parent groups such as Parents and Friends, working bees, participation in sporting events, sporting gala days, open days, Christmas concerts, assemblies and helping the school librarian.

Parents are invited to attend all liturgical celebrations in the school. We encourage parents of infants children to sit with their child during grade masses. We ask them to participate in particular aspects of these liturgies such as reading or offertory processions and we encourage them to pray with the whole school at morning assemblies.

Please note that all volunteer workers in schools are required to undergo child protection training. Visit the Parramatta Catholic Education Office website 'Building Child Safe Communities' for more information. St Paul the Apostle parents are required to have a volunteer Working with Children Check. Our Office staff keep a record of these details to ensure we are compliant. Parents are also required to complete this online module before they are able to assist at school.
